Did you know…Creating a relaxing bedtime ritual can help you get a better night’s sleep? A few minutes of soothing activity before bed can help signal your body that it’s time to sleep. Nothing complicated necessary—your routine could be simply turning down the lights, brushing your teeth, and reading in bed for a few minutes. If you have more time, add a shower or bath, or do a few easy stretches.
Tips for successful nights sleep:
1. Get on a sleep schedule. Figure out your natural sleep time clock.
2. Be smart about naps. Limit naps to 20-30 minutes.
3. Control your exposure to light. When it's starting to become night time, you will notice melatonin, a naturally occurring hormone, is produced more making you start to feel tired. Blue light emitted from technology slows the production of melatonin making it harder to fall asleep. Try reading or listening to music instead!
